Did you know as well our market this Saturday where you will find a host of fab NE stall holders selling vintage , vinyl, arts, crafts and not on the high street goodies there is also a Punk exhibition on??
Jimmy Burns has built up an extensive collection of Punk memorabilia which is currently on display at Newcastle City Library. So if you fancy a trip down Punk memory lane, after perusing the market of course! Then head upstairs to the Punk No 1 exhibition and feast your eyes on Jimmy Burns's fantstic collection . Here's what the critics are saying ...
'A treasure trove of memorabilia which takes the visitor through the history of punk, particularly in the north-east. This includes very rare posters of punk bands including Sex Pistols posters from early gigs, including their legendary show at Huddersfield on Christmas Day 1977, which was to be their last UK concert (before the later reunions). There is also a massive collection of badges, tickets, vinyl and original, very rare, punk clothing such as a Destroy T-shirt from the original Kings Road shop of Malcolm McLaren and Vivian Westwood" Vintagerocks weblog
