Well our ‘It’s my life … ‘ Mod exhibition has finally ended and what a fantastic turn out we had. Our exhibition has been one of the most popular exhibitions ever at Newcastle City Library with extensive visitor numbers coming only second to the Lindisfarne Gospels. In our opinion this only goes to show the huge interest in our more recent sub cultural history .
One of the aims of our exhibition was to introduce the history of mod to a new generation who hopefully will be so inspired by those cool original mods that they may step away from sports wear and discover a new way to dress 😎 (well we can hope …)
Once again huge thanks to everyone who took to time to visit our exhibition. We are planning another sub cult exhibition for 2024, more info to follow.
In the meantime if you want to read about Newcastle’s 60s mod scene and of course the Club a’Gogo, our book is available to buy via the link https://www.clubagogo.co.uk/product-page/club-a-gogo-the-mod-scene-of-1960s-newcastle
